DIY Topiary Centerpieces

These adorable DIY topiary centerpiece ideas are a great way to add color to any celebration, baby shower or birthday.

I started with an idea from a friend who wanted to recreate these colorful Dr. Seuss centerpieces for her son’s 1st birthday and these DIY topiary centerpieces added a fun flare to the party.

I purchased white small & medium lollipop sticks for the Dr. Seuss images that I printed out on picture paper. I searched high and low in LA’s Downtown Party Store/Piñata District for small red buckets.

(Although, they look like Red Cups, I’m sure you can get away with that.)

For my DIY Topiary Centerpieces, I used floral oasis sponges as the base to stick the Dr. Seuss images in.

The hot glue was my friend with most of this project. \

I added white filler a top of the sponge. I also glued that on so there were no fly aways.  I also painted the wood sticks red so they would stand out.  For the top of the DIY topiary centerpieces,

I cut squares out of the tissue paper and folded them around my finger so I could glue its point to the styrofoam ball.

I added the paper side by side adding each color creating one big tissue ball!

So you see, it might take some time, but very simple to make.

You can make it a different DIY topiary centerpiece theme just by adding color.

I also made these cute Sage & Purple, per request, babyshower elephant DIY topiary centerpieces.

Just shows you how different you can make them with a little imagination.

I re-used the candle votives from our wedding for these.

They were a hit at the office shower!
